Welcome to our house in the Vendee.

Our holiday home, Le Pavillon is situated in La Jonchere, a very pretty village in southern Vendée and only a 10-minute drive to stunning, sandy beaches at La Tranche sur Mer, La Griere and Les Conches to name but a few!

As well as being near fabulous Blue Flag beaches the house benefits from its own private heated swimming pool, perfect for enjoying those long sunny days - the Vendee is the second sunniest area in France with about 2500 hours of sunshine per year!

Getting here:

The Vendee is easily accessible from the UK which makes it ideal for family holidays. Our house is less than an hour’s drive from La Rochelle airport with budget flights from Stansted all year round and from Gatwick in July and August or alternatively fly into Nantes which is approximately an hour’s drive.

If you prefer to travel by ferry the shortest sea crossings from the UK are Calais and Cherbourg, whereas the shortest drive in France is from St Malo (only 3 hours to central Vendee).

The local area and things to do

Go-Karting at La Jonchere (Vendée Kart) - Great fun for all the family with adult, junior and mini electric karts for small children from 3 years old upwards. There is a café and snack bar also on site. Open from April to October - open 7 days a week during July and August.

Go Fun in Le Bernard near Moutiers Les Mauxfaits (similar to UK’s Go Ape). One of the largest adventure parks in France - set in five acres of forest. Lots of activities for all ages including zip wires through the forest, at different levels, the water jump zone, paintballing, etc.

O’Gliss Water Park situated in Le Bernard, next to the Indian Forest - this is the third largest water park in France and right on our doorstep!

The Puy du Fou - Les Espesses, near Cholet
This is a vast multi-award winning medieval theme park in the heart of the Vendée and only an hour’s drive away. The theme park is set in the extensive grounds of the ruined castle of Le Puy du Fou. There are 20 shows a day and night. Open from 1 April to 24 September.

The Marais Poitevin, or ‘Green Venice’ is a maze of secret canals lined with duckweed and rows of poplars, willows and ash trees. Hire a flat bottom boat or a canoe for the day and explore. You can hire the canoes from St Benoist which is less than a 5 minute drive from the villa
